• Dyed stones (commonly dyed Howlite stone) can show color concentrated blue color in cracks or edges.
• Plastic or resin imitations that feel lighter to touch.
• Reconstituted turquoise (compressed fragments) that appear too consistent. These are made from real stone but are treated and reconstituted with resin and dyes.
